Updating this after about 3 weeks in London, doing lots of tourist things at a leisurely pace.
Islington
The flat we have for the first month is right in the middle of Upper St in Islington, about 4 miles out of the central city area, close to Georgie's place and with great bus and Tube access to everywhere. This area is a cultural melting pot, reflecting the changes in London over the past ten or twenty years. Lots of small ethnic restaurants (including 3 Turkish ones each named Gallipoli, as well as a few famous foodies, in Jamie's Italian and Ottolenghi in Upper St.
It's not the British Library, but has more ale! |
Nice gastro pub near our flat - great food |
Be careful if driving a large vehicle ... |
